Mandate
The Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia elects and revokes the Ombudsman. The Ombudsman is elected for office term of eight years with a right to re-election.
In the realization of its functions and competences the Ombudsman is assisted by deputies, elected by the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia. The Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia elects and revokes the Ombudsman and his deputies with a majority vote of the total number of MPs, whereby there has to be a majority of votes from the total number of MPs who belong to the non-majority communities in the Republic of Macedonia.
