ANNOUNCEMENT
The Ombudsman as a body who protects children rights, pays particular attention to protection of the child from all sorts of violence over them (physical, psychological, emotional and sexual), which is the reason why he calls all bodies, institutions and homes to always have into consideration the best interest of the child.
Unfortunately, we are witnesses of violence towards the children in the family, school, but also in the institutions for care. Due to their age and insufficient knowledge of their rights, children cannot indentify the breaches of their rights, and have limited knowledge of how to protect themselves.
There is a need to prevent such situation through education of the children about their rights, about the manners of how to protect themselves but at the same time it is needed to also educate the adults and the families in order to increase their awareness for the meaning of these rights and the respect towards the children as subjects with individual rights and obligations.
On this day we remind that our children are our presence and our future, the good education of the children presents warranty that they will grow in healthy and useful individuals who will contribute not only in the family but in the society in general.
