RESPECTED

The respect of children rights is one of the most important goals we should all aim to achieve.  It is of utmost importance for every society to grow healthy, educated, tolerant new generations prepared to face all challenges that life brings.

20 November is known as an International Children Day and day of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. It is an opportunity each of us to remind him/ herself that once we all were children and to ask ourselves what have we managed to change for the best interest of the child?

This day should be incentive to everyone who works with children or in the interest of the child for the purpose of creating a more serious and dedicated approach to improve the situation with children rights, to include them in their activities and to respect their opinion according to the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

We are aware of the fact that for a harmonious development of child’s personality we should create conditions as he/she could grow in a healthy family environment, pleasant atmosphere filled with happiness, love and understanding. That is exactly what obliges us to treat them as equal to us, as active subjects and holders of rights and obligations. They should be treated with respect, provided with education for further prosperity of the humanity.

Being part of the households, kinder gardens, schools, facilities for care and protection of children and other institutions and bodies, we all have obligation to contribute towards children proper psychophysical development, to raise them and educate them in the spirit of tolerance and acceptance of differences, to teach them how to avoid conflicts and to choose dialogue for conflict resolution. In this way we will prepare the child for a life in the spirit of peace, dignity, tolerance, freedom, equality and solidarity with others.

On this international day of the child it is unavoidable to mention those thousands of children who do not have their basic rights as the right to access clean water, right to food, right to live in a clean and healthy environment, to educate themselves in their mother tongue, with one word all those rights that if had them, they would have grown up in capable individuals, prepared to continue what the other generations before them have begun.
