VIDEO SURVEILLANCE IN PLACES OF DEPRIVATION OF LIBERTY
Ombudsman-National Preventive Mechanism supported by TAIEX program in cooperation with the Directorate for Personal Data Protection on 10 May 2013 organized workshop on "Video surveillance in places of deprivation of liberty."
The Ombudsman, Mr. Ixhet Memei, director of the Directorate for Personal Data Protection, Mr. Dimitar Georgievski, and a representative of the European delegation, Mr. Mafredas Limantas addressed the participant at the workshop.
At the workshop were presented the findings of the National Preventive Mechanism in the area of video surveillance in places of deprivation of liberty, and the Czech NPM experiences regarding this topic. Also the international standards for data protection with emphasis on video surveillance in areas of deprivation and regulation for the video surveillance contained in domestic legislation for the protection of personal data were given in details.
The representatives of the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Health ahare their experiences and opinions regarding the topic shared the representatives of the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Health.
At the end of the workshop the basic conclusions regarding the provision of the right to privacy in places of deprivation of liberty, respecting the personal integrity of persons deprived, and providing protection and safety of places where persons are deprived of their liberty were defined
