REGIONAL FORUM OF THE OMBUDSMANS OF THE BALKANS
Deputy Ombudsman Ms. Vaska Bajramovska Mustafa together with three representatives from the Ombudsman's office participated at the Regional Forum of the Ombudsmen from the Balkans, which was held in Sofia under the auspices of the Ombudsman Office in Sofia, where the Ombudsman Institution of the Republic of Macedonia had a role of a co-initiator.
At the Forum, it was agreed to establish a platform for networking of the Ombudsman institutions from the region of Southeast Europe. This informal network aims to exchange experiences and practices, but also joint action on issues of interest to these national human rights institutions.
A declaration was signed by the Ombudsmen of Bulgaria, Macedonia, Albania, Greece, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia, Romania, Moldova, Croatia, while Bosnia and Herzegovina will confirm its entry in the network after the internal consensus of the three national ombudsmen.
The Forum agreed that the chairmanship of the network should be rotated every six months, and the next meeting of this kind will be held in May, next year in Bucharest, Romania.
